After work hunt. My first SC CW button and an old Pewter Button/Tag "3"

Went out to the same site I've found the Charleston Police Button circa 1850-1860s and the Partial Slave tag among other relics. Today the low tide was -0.9 so i had a lot of exposed mud and sand. Here are my two good finds! First up, My first South Carolina CW button. At least I'm pretty sure it is. It is 23 mm wide Two piece without the back unfortunately. But since the site has already produced CW relics and older relics I'm pretty sure it is period. The other find is a little more of a mystery. At first i thought it was a Rev War button and i got my hopes up. It is pewter and you can see the "3" on there and what might be a "2" or a "4" to the right of it. The back is weird as well. So we are thinking it might be a period luggage tag or a marker. Doubt its a button however. If anyone can ID let me know. Going back tomorrow most likely to find more and after i clean up the rest of the finds that made it into the good pouch today i may have more to show. Thanks for looking.

I think you found a pre-war S.C...the back missing doesn't hurt it that much. Has a pretty face going for it, the best part of it... wtg on the sL too. Damn good hunt. gl tomorrow
