We got rain last night here in Houston so the diggin might be a bit easier. I broke one of the 'floral' shovels, that I had welded a brace to the back, in the hard clay yesterday. Now I have to re-weld it again.

Looks like you got into a .50 cal area! Those little round things are parts of a bracelet??? At first I thought they had the old 'square nail' holes in them and could have been old coins.
 

I'm hoping it's easier, I use the Sampson T handle digger. I think there's many more .50 cals out there. It's possible those are from a bracelet
