Hey folks, spent the last week driving 50 miles in every direction, stopping at old shipping ports ,one room schoolhouses, beaches, old campgrounds, you name it and was completely skunked on anything old. After three hours in the water with the icebergs and no rings,I decided to head home and give the yard another try.I decided last week whoever owned my house before must have been a scrap metal dealer.Tried a new spot at the front by the road and found a 1917 big penny ,a 1940 silver dime,1920 wheat cent and a 1920 Canadian cent, also a button ,compact lid with fake diamonds ,a trumpet mouthpiece and a great lead anchor.Which is extra neat because my house once belonged to Captain Crawford who went down with his ship the JH Jones November 22nd 1906 in Georgian bay with all hands and passangers.Nothing was ever seen again except one body in January 1907,that was washed ashore on Christian island wearing a jones life preserver.Maybee the anchor was part of his sons model ship?
