Man, I was about ready to quit looking for the gold and even felt kind of down when I was hunting. That is until this big golden beauty showed up. :headbang: Well, it's not the prettiest ring, but it's huge and has a purple ruby in the middle of it. I found it two days ago, but my camera was out of batteries, so I finally was able to take some pics. I was hunting a park established in the early 1900's. It's pretty scarce now on the coins, so I decided to dig just about every signal I came across. Suddenly, I got a 12-31 on the Etrac. What's the chances of this being anything good? Probably a colt 45 screw cap or something. Dug down about three inches and saw a yellow ring. Pushed the dirt through the hole and saw 14K stamped on the inside!!! :occasion14: I took it to a jeweler today and he said the stone was pretty low quality, but if it were new it would retail for $1200. Now I know I couldn't get that much for it, but it's still a pretty good hunk of gold. It weighed in at 11.7 grams. Here are the pics:

Congrats bud :icon_thumleft:

Awsome :icon_thumright: I reasently got an E-trac myself. I created my own park hunting program by scaning a bunch of gold , silver , clad items in to it's memory . 12-31 falls right into the range of the gold items I scaned in . Great recovery on the ring , it's a awsome dig ! !

Nice looking ring. That is one reason I dig all signals......Matt

Outstandingly Groovy Ring! Sure gives ya a rush when you unearth it, hunh?
Keep at it an HH

Ignore Flip Flop's comment! :laughing7:
I think your ring's gorgeous buddy, great find! :notworthy:

Here's what just the gold alone is worth! :o

11.7 Grams of 14 karat Gold = $295.65 USD
Price of Gold: $1,347.40 US an ounce.
14 karat = 58.33% purity.
11.7 Grams = 0.376155 ounces

Cheers,
Dave

Sweet! That ruby looks to be pretty big - way over a carat, at least. Not sure how much the stone itself weighs, but that must be subtracted from the total weight before an accurate gold weight can be reached.

BTW, did jeweler indicate the size/dimensions of the ruby?

Wow, :o

Looks like a lot more gold than on Youtube. :icon_scratch: The stone maybe lighter than what I said on youtube. :dontknow: Thats some chunky gold !! :o :icon_thumleft:
Maybe someone else has an idea of stone weight. ??? :help:

Keep @ It and HH !! :D ;D
