I'm looking into buying a used Garrett's 2500. Where would be the best place to look, other than ebay? Oh, and for all you guys with a lot of experience in Metal Detecting...what would be a "comparable" MD to the 2500? What would you recommend and why? I know you've heard this question a million times...but I need to get some good, honest, and current input specifically related to this model type. Thanks again.

I'm not real Familiar with the 2500, However I would say the DFX by whites or Quatro by Minelab are closest. .... you can put an ad in the Classified section of this site and ask if anyone has one for sale. Good Luck ; jeff

Lots of people have second detectors they would like to sell but have not done it yet. You could just post questions on a few forums asking for one at a price to see who bites.

Garrett makes a great detector.I have used them for years and have been very pleased. the 2500 is there top of the line but don't over look there 1250,1350 and 1500 they do just about the same things as the 2500.

You might want to check out what frequency the detectors you are looking at are set up for this will make a difference in finding a gold coin at 4 in. or 10 in. otherwise all detectors work about the same on silver. Or at least the ones I have used.
Someone else might know more on this then me.

Check out the Kalleyco web site to get a good ideal on used prices.

Happy Hunting
