hi everyone, ive enjoyed reading alot of your advice about treasure hunting over the past few weeks now
and have decided to join in and start asking some questions.
I'm very interested in beach and land hunting and I'm also very close to Australia's golden triangle, some
thumping nuggets have been found there in the past and from time to time still turn up some beauties.
so im realy after the one that does it all, one i can get wet & take bush.

does it exist?
or should i be focusing on one or the other?

i also live 2 mins away from the beach and alot of history.

any advice would be appreciated

cheers

Depending on where you live in Victoria if its close to Maryborough go and see John Gladys at the coiltek gold centre he is the authority on gold detecting in and around the triangle. He deals in new and secondhand detectors and will lead you on the right track. He has a web site.WWW.coiltek.com.au
Detecting depends a lot on your budget, dont buy a cheap machine you are bound to regret it later, better off with a better quality used machine bought from a dealer with a warrantee for about he same money.Look used Sd2200 if you are a seriuos gold hunter cost around $2000 aust.Failing that look at modified sd2000 at around $1000aust.Or go for minelab Eureka ace At about$1500 or minelab 18000 around $900 used.
good luck seeya Neilo

If you can afford it the best way to go is to get two detectors. One for gold and one for coin, jewelry, relic. There is just no way to get the best of both worlds in one detector.
