Let me preface this... I understand the basics of different frequencies and their effects.

I'm really just looking for a reason somebody would buy one of the new HF coils if they aren't prospecting or running in ultra hot ground.

A slight advantage of hitting smaller coins or coins on their ends harder? Worth $420+?

That's a pretty serious investment. If I were to throw down that kind of coin I would expect some serious, tangible advantages. I'm not a prospector, my ground isn't super hot, and I primarily look for coins and relics.

Why would this be good for me?

Honest question... Maybe I'm just ignorant of the possibilities.

I'm with you. Relic hunting I use 8 or 12. so there would be no reason to change.

Our beaches here have soooo many gold chains it would look like spaghetti everywhere if you could see them. Now with this coil, you can.

You are right, for your style of hunting it would not be worth the cost. I have similar hunting objectives though I sonetimes beach hunt so MrMikeJackie's post regarding gold chains interests me, but I am still not planning on picking up either HF coil anytime soon.

Umm being an addict, I got mine in the mail and should have it running by Thurs/fri.......

Investment wise, honestly they are cheaper that the 11" coil now, sure deals can be had......

It will pick up tiny itmes way better, and all the toher stuff already said. While coin shooting mostly, I will go nugget shooting for sure!

But back to reality's slap of the face.......I am addicted.
