Hey, gang. Just thought I would share my weekend project of adding volume control to my Tesoro Cibola.
I'll state off the bat that this is only helpful for regular off-the-shelf headphones, not metal detecting headphones or headphones that already have a volume control.
First off, I went out to Radio Shack and picked up one of these:
http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog_name=CTLG&product_id=42-2559
Then, I just plugged 'er in with a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter (they come with just about any set of headphones you buy).
Then I rounded up the lose wires with a tie-wrap.
I used 3M double-sided tape - the kind with foam in the middle - to attach the volume control to the bottom of the detector.
Here's some pics.
