Hi, Im from Southern In where Ky and IL collide. I have a very addictive personality and have to distance myself from potientally dangerous situations ( casino Aztar, bar/taverns and Ellis Park) ebay was an issue for awhile but I conquered that! My psychariest says I'm not crazy but I'm not convinced he's "practiced" long enough!?!?
After much research I decided on the Ace 250 and I have had pretty good results. I have used it a bunch in the month I've owned it as I am unemployed. My oldest coin to date is a 1929 Wheatie which I scratched while retrieving it. Found 1 Mercury pretty worn. Found 7 1965 dimes in an old High School lot. ( I guess you know why I posted the year?)several other wheaties. Total $21 in clad. All within 3 miles from my home.
I have done a lot of research on our local history and never knew what I was missing. There are some old river towns around here that were boom towns in their day. My husband is an amature maptologist( not sure that's even a word) but he is very helpful in locating good places to go. He fishes I hunt. We make a good team and have for 32 yrs.
I have many newbie questions and will search the threads for answers. I am confident they are here.
I'll get my 7 year old grandaughter to post the picture of a relic Surface find from the bank of the Ohio where Morgan's raid crossed from Ky to In. Who knows, could be something special!?!?
Sorry for rambling, just wanted to say Hello and GOD bless!
Kelly
