Copper cents and dimes show up in the same notch. You machine is normal. There are just a lot more cents lost than dimes.

Mine does the same thing, I don't think there is a problem with your machine. It is kinda frustrating when you dig a penny when you're expecting a dime though. Just keep diggin' 'em you'll get some dimes. One thing I'll say for the 250, if it gives you a solid quarted signal 9 times outta 10 it's a quarter.

Most all detector models and brands lump the dime and copper cent together. They are just too close in conductivity. It's just not the 250.

a clad dime and pre 1982 copper cent -- have a very similar conductivity levels due to the amount of copper in them (conductivity is how the machine sorts whats what --find wize)--esp if you are running low sen levels -- even under full levels its had to sort the two apart -- now the "cents icon" on the 250 mainly picks up the post 82 zinc cents and pre 1909 indain head cents * --- 1909 lincolns to 59 copper wheats and 59 to 82 will ring up under dime fairly often esp if deep --- this is very "normal"

the single but not repeatible beep is likewize normal also --it might fool the machine once -- but once the machine gets a "goodl ook" at it unless it repeats --its most likely junk .

most folks say only dig repeatible signals *
