Detector(s) used
ace 250
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I had a couple of hours to kill this morning while the family spent time with the inlaws and decided to use it wisely by doing some detecting.
I decided to hit the old faithful quarter corner where ive found about 100 quarters.
I had been there for about 15 minutes getting decent signals digging a few clad pennies, nickles and a couple of dimes.
I was thinking is today the day i want find no quarters?
Halfway into the hunt i got a nickle signal reading 4 inches and started digging and found some foil. Darnit i said, but ran the ace back over the hole and there was the nickle signal again. So i went a bit deeper and good thing i did, because at 6 inches there was a pocket spill of seven dimes and three nickles was there waiting on me.
But, as i said in my headline, the best was yet to come.
I had ten minutes left in my hunt and was wandering back towards the car when i got a quarter signal at 8 inches.
I dug down to 8 inches, nothing, ten inches, nothing and around twelve inches there she laid, a beautiful 1948 washington quarter in awesome shape.
Yes, yes, yes the ace 250s first silver.
Now it is time for me to go to work, so you all have a great day of detecting.

Sounds awesome, ;D I am impressed the Ace 250 went so deep. :icon_scratch:We need some pictures !! :icon_study:

Keep @ it and HH!!

congrats allen! that 250 did go deep! the deepest coin i ever dug with mine was probably 8 inches or so. the soil conditions where you were hunting must have been perfect for the ace!

Early june i will have a digital camera to post pics.
The soil was perfect, not muddy, but yet it was really damp.
The ace 250 has picked up cans that deep before, but never a coin.
I was so happy.
By the way the pocket spill was all clad from the mid 60s.
A good day for me.
Thanks for looking,
Allen

Way to go, Allen! 8) Isn't it funny how many times those best finds are found on the way to the car? :D

Congrats on that silver!! Nana

Congrats Allen    I recently got a nickel signal from my Ace 250, dug 10-11" and finally found a rivet head from old levis pocket. The Ace continues to amaze me.... :o

Good job. My ace picked up a 46 dime from a sandbox at an elemetary school last month. Keep up the good ace name!!
