I had a couple of hours to kill this morning while the family spent time with the inlaws and decided to use it wisely by doing some detecting.
I decided to hit the old faithful quarter corner where ive found about 100 quarters.
I had been there for about 15 minutes getting decent signals digging a few clad pennies, nickles and a couple of dimes.
I was thinking is today the day i want find no quarters?
Halfway into the hunt i got a nickle signal reading 4 inches and started digging and found some foil. Darnit i said, but ran the ace back over the hole and there was the nickle signal again. So i went a bit deeper and good thing i did, because at 6 inches there was a pocket spill of seven dimes and three nickles was there waiting on me.
But, as i said in my headline, the best was yet to come.
I had ten minutes left in my hunt and was wandering back towards the car when i got a quarter signal at 8 inches.
I dug down to 8 inches, nothing, ten inches, nothing and around twelve inches there she laid, a beautiful 1948 washington quarter in awesome shape.
Yes, yes, yes the ace 250s first silver.
Now it is time for me to go to work, so you all have a great day of detecting.
