Ace 250: Buy the "Bonus Package" or Just The Detector?

Hello All,

I am getting ready to buy my first detector. After reading the board for a couple of months I have decided to get an ACE 250. My question is, is it worth it to buy the bonus package for 297.45 or should I just get the basic detector for 212.45? the bonus package is listed as follows

I was given a deal where I got a pinpointer probe for a very reduced price as part of the package. Even without the pinpointer, I will say yes. You should also get a coil cover.

Why dont you check out Kellyco? They usually have a good package deal that includes a reduced price on a Pinpointer as well.

Yet you can buy that same AutoMax Precision V4 pinpointer from Kellyco for $64.95. So what does that tell you about getting a free pinpointer worth "$140"?

And I'm sure that pinpointer is nothing compared to the Garrett ProPointer which you can get for $127. Now, all else being equal I wouldn't turn it down. But that "free" pinponter isn't worth going out of your way for if the rest of the deal isn't comparable to what you can get elsewhere.

You are going to need a Pinpointer. Go with Kellyco. The pinpointer is free.

Coil cover a must to protect the coil from abrasions..

IMO you dont need the headphones with the Ace because Ace 250's have no sillent signals. They are all loud.

You need a Pinpointer, Coil Cover, Instructional book or DVD. Extra Coil and Rain Cover is nice. You can make your own rain cover from a ziplock bag. A carry bag is also nice to have.

Prices may be exaggerated on the freebies but I think the rest of the deal is comparable or better.
