Primary Interest:
Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
Bought a cheaply Ace 150. Found a ton on coins and some rings including the 999 gold, some silver 925 and junkers.
Mostly on the beach and water edge.
Been a good machine, I guess a bit noisy around the waters edge, but after a while you can get a feel for it.
Not sure how much I am missing either.
The detector has paid for itself a couple times over, but just love getting out there!

About to receive a White's Beachhunter as I have been itching to get in the water. Also, bought 2 sand scoops. So I am about to hit the beaches HARD this summer :)

Many thanks to all the information and pics posted here. Great forum!

Also discovered people don't like payment in this dirty money.
Vending machines are less fussy though :)

Bling and foreign coins, tokens etc.

Also a crazy story.
I once found a set of keys on the beach and they turned out to be mine!
The crazy thing is they were from my old house and I have no memory of visiting that beach when I lived at that house and have no idea how they got there.
Maybe I lost them in my detecting bag and they dropped out some years later. No idea.

You have done well with your ace 150. Welcome to treasurenet. Your water machine will find much more for you.

Cool finds!! Congratulations!! Good Luck next hunts!!:treasurechest:

Thanks for you comments guys.

Received my White's ID 300 last night, a short time later I was down the beach.

The beach was pretty hard work- with the crashing waves, the rip and a very coarse sand/rock bottom.
A also noticed there was a wave wash ledge just past the water line ('the 'Plunge Step') which is constantly churning. I tried to search that zone but without a long sandscoop it was near impossible. Despite this I still found a large earring and some AAA batteries. I will try again tonight as the tide seems to be favourable ( low )

The beach section looks a lot like this:

Question- is most of the stuff above, on or below the plunge step?
