I received my Garrett ACE 150 this past Monday, and could not wait until today rolled around. I woke up early, loaded up the ACE in my car, grabbed some breakfast and hit a local elementary school field.
After about 1.5 hours of total hunting time, I brought home my first treasures.
2 Quarters dated 1990's
2 Dimes dated 1990's
1 Nickel dated 2005
3 Pennies dated 1980's
1 rifle shell casing
Not exactly a cash windfall but ya know what...I discovered something else. This activity is very VERY relaxing. As well as good exercise. I am kicking myself for not getting into this hobby years ago. I guess I was afraid about how difficult the detectors would have been to learn.
I picked a great beginner detector if I do say so myself. For someone who has never held a detector in his hands before Monday, I think I did a pretty good job choosing one.
The ACE 150 by Garrett is PERFECT. Tells you what you stumbled across and how deep it is hidden. Very easy to learn and understand. I would certainly recommend the ACE 150 to anyone who is looking to get started in this wonderful hobby.
And I am certainly going to start saving to get the ACE 250 next!
