I bought a large junk jewelry jar for $20 to use for crafting. I was surprised to see a 1893/1894 Elgin watch in a gold hunters case. The face is damaged and the crystal is gone (there should be one, right?). Also in the jar a nice working Citizen and Swiss Army. A non working coin silver mid 1800 key wound pocket watch with key. Gold filled, beat to heck, Oxford pocket watch and an assortment of non working watches. Does anyone know how many jewels (rubis) the key watch says? It looks like an H to me. A 4 maybe? Here's an album:

I think the key wind is probably a low quality swiss, before they were known for good quality watches. English watches held the crown for a very long time and the swiss even went as far as faking/knocking off English/American made watches until they got themselves sorted out.

Awesome!! Ridiculous score for $20!

Awesome score. If only there were Jewelry bags or jars around here
