Do you ever see something that you felt compelled to buy, then wonder what possessed you to do so anyway?? I literally can’t remember why I bought this. I don’t typically like abstract work and at 14” long I have no place for it. I have no idea what it is, and neither did the seller. It’s a bit carved out, about 4” diameter. Let me know if you know what it is...

Look up Chinese Root Carvings or Chinese Natural Root Carvings or Chinese Abstract Root Carvings. Some are of people, animals, and some are just left in the natural or abstract state, like what you have here.

I have seen weather worn cedar roots that look kinda like that. Kinda sorta :)
