I worked my way all the way down the median to the southern most end and noticed the targets are now severely diminishing. After 5 hours of swinging my coin total was only 20 coins.
My one mercury dime saved my day. 3 wheat pennies, a pot pipe, and 2 good luck tokens were also dug. Today's mercury dime brings my total silver coins out of the median to 152!

I'm noticing other holes in the median??? I guess I've been ringing the dinner bell with my posts. Some other guys from the bay area have discovered my hot spot probably due to my posts.
That's OK, I had it pretty much all to myself for the last 6 years.:tongue3:

Sweet Find!

Kace

Very nice finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

Great finds! I found one of those tokens a few years ago. It was a Swamri all seeingeye good luck token from the 30s

Wowza your stilling rippin and runnin on those medians nice token I love those when I can find em

Wow, I'm so impressed you have gotten so much there. I pretty much just hunt a new site every day so for me there really isn't a ton of consistency to my detecting. Well done again!

Very nice finds! :icon_thumleft: Remember it's never hunted out!

Wow, I canโ€™t believe that it is coming to an end! I have enjoyed your posts for a long time. When you are all done you should post a pic with every keeper you have dug from that median strip!

Great Job! That median sure has been a sweet honey hole for you, would love to hear what gave you the idea to hunt there? Was it part of a park long ago?

This particular median has been a magnet for kids to play in since the 1930's. Imagine a place for tire swings, bushes to build forts in, and a place to shoot your BB gun. Over these many decades dog
owners had used it a a dog park. With all that foot traffic over many years I thought it should produce a few targets. So far I've taken out over 5,000 coins, 15 pieces of sterling jewelry, 510 wheat pennies,
and about a dozen very interesting relics. Some of the relics include a brass S.F. peddlers license badge from 1910, a 1937 Chauffeur badge, over 50 dog tags, a mercury head from a 1950 Ford Mercury,
and a S.F. Post Office Badge that I dug last week. Best coin was a 1891-S Seated Quarter. It's sad that it's finally going dry. Several other hunters in the bay area have discovered my hot spot, so the targets
are really going to be depleted at a fast rate now. I'll probably give it another 2 weeks and call it quits, it will be time to find another place. It sure was good for a long time.

Stellar run and itโ€™s appreciated that you shared it with us, despite knowing that your โ€œsecretโ€ spot may be revealed. Hopefully you can squeeze out a few more goodies.
