I have this abandoned road in my neighbor hood that was inhabited up to the 90s then the people died off/moved away on that road. I really do not believe anyone has ever detected it due to the location of my neighbor.... being off the beaten path and all. I checked old aerials and there were 8+ buildings on this street built around the late 40s. The amount of brush/trash and bugs prevent me from ever going back on this road..... which today the grass is beginning to overrun. I think its time for some OFF deep woods and the 5x8 coil for this spot.

I would wait till fall or the spring let the grass die off Bugs move on and then go full bore Nothing worst that being bug bitten and trying to dig through tall grass

X2

In the early Spring the grass is low and the bugs aren't out yet. Sounds like a good spot.

If you can handle the cold Id wait for the days right before the temp will get close to freezing but seeing as were both from ohio It could be 32 one day and 70 the next.

Winter/later fall time is good to hunt places like this. Dead weeds, no bugs, and a lot less people hanging around to gawk at you or cause trouble.

I haven't detected for over a month due to other things going on, but the chiggers are awful in the grass out here. Spraying OFF at my feet helps some, but they still manage to bite me.
