When using acid to test for gold, wear gloves! I never did and was always careful until today. I spilled it all over my hand. Not sure how, but it burns! 14k acid is not good for the skin!

The ring didn't turn colors though. It's real!

Didn't they teach you in high school, "Goggles and Gloves when working with acids or bases"?

Been there done that. Not too big of a deal, just turns your skin yellow.

I don't wear gloves when I clean stuff with peroxide or acetone either.

Did you try to test that ring without taking it off of your finger? That's what it looks like to me.LOL!

Did you use the test stone? To properly acid test you should use the stone and draw a line on it with the test item then use the quality of acid you thing the gold is to see if line disappears ...

Lol!! I know. No I was showing someone how to use it they squeezed The bottle too hard I guess. And it squirted all over the place and I used a tissue to clean it up and I guess squeezed the tissue. At least that's how I remember it

LOL...Ok, I knew someone who thought you put the acid on the ring, he didn't know you used the stone so was just checking...

I still have couple yellow marks on my finger from a test 2 weeks ago....

The last time I dropped acid I saw every color in the spectrum, not just yellow.

Sorry Beachkid, I couldn't resist. Be careful with that stuff, you don't want to accidentally get it in your eye. That would not be good.
