Relic Hunting
Hello Everyone,

I went to one my favorite local farm fields that in the past has produced many interesting old coins, jewelry and Relics; today only one coin was recovered (1916 Lincoln Head cent) in the 2 ¼ hour hunt. The relics seem to be the recovery of choice. The hunt provided some buttons, a pocket knife, buckle, ox knob, copper metal and the usual farm related junk.

Tomorrow is will be in the single digits with a wind chill factor of well below zero; looks like not a good day for hunting. :BangHead: Sunday will be in the mid-fifties with partial rain; I will be hunting. :icon_thumleft:

Thank you for looking.

Big Congrats! A 1916 wheat penny is a neat find. There has to be silver around there somewhere.

Buttons are always a nice find and ox knobs are cool and don't come up to often, and yes we need to let the frigid air pass before getting back out. Next week is looking good to get back out. Nice finds.

Good thing you got out before the freeze. Sunday will be nice but you may still need a jack hammer to recover your targets. Nice hunt! I love ox knobs, they have some nice heft to them as you hold them in your hand. On the other hand many hate them because they ring up like something a lot better, only to disappoint. I still think they are cool relics to find. It's hard to imagine seeing such big draft animals around today. They were the heavy haulers of their day. :icon_thumleft:

Nice finds, I hope I can get through the crust tomorrow, otherwise I'll be headed in the woods.

Well my friend it's -7 with 30-40 mph gusts today in Maine. Sadly this is the end. But I am numb enough to hunt the saltwater shore. Yes I'm very very numb

Nice finds Doc, I am still looking for my 1st Ox knob. That's a cool piece.
