A wonderful little lock & 1912s Barber Dime!

It's been ages since I've posted any of my finds and there have been plenty. But, nothing compared to what others have been displaying on site! This little lock was down about 8 to 10 inches and gave off a funny little sound. It rang up close to copper but different. I suspect it is brass. It's layered. The dime was found within 5 feet of another 1912 Barber I found the day before. This one is in much better condition as I scored the other fighting with roots.

Also, check out the (4) Detector Give-A-Way over in Forum "EVERYTHING ELSE!"

Good hunting!

Thanks everyone for responding!

I believe the lock may have been gold plated but then again, maybe not. On my way back to the farm yesterday, I rubbed on it (the lock) all the way. Surprisingly, it cleaned up really well. There are no markings of any kind on it. I found some strange shaped keys a week or two back; but in another location. I may just try them in it! :)

Wouldn't it be funny if one of the keys do fit? I would love that... let us know...

I have a SMALL collection of skeleton keys, one is solid brass, I was thinking of making a display with just the skeleton keys in it and hang it on my wall... My memory wall.. sounds like a winner..
