thinghy.jpg I let little bro take the metal detector for a spin he found a few things, he was curious about the knife so I thought id ask you guys if there was anything you could recognize about it, the other thing I have no idea what it was but it appears to have writing on the bottom of the u shape but its too corroded to make out any of it

It's a track/rail hanger for a hay fork trolley that is suspended from the underside of the roof in a barn haymow. It could date from the 1880's through the mid 1900's....give or take a few years.

you guys nailed the hanger good call on that... odd that it would be on a small hill that only had a cabin on top but I'm sure that's what it is, any thoughts on the knife?

Great call on the rail hanger, flinthunter.
Louden seems to be the maker of this style.

thanks guys the hay pulley piece was right on, I didn't think the knife could tell much but I thought it was worth a shot you guys have impressed before.
