A week we'll not forget! Trine, half dime, buttons, & more. Late war civil war camps.
So Tab and myself have been hunting some camps related to Sheridans Valley Campaign. We have followed through a few of his camps and battles along this campaign route. One of the camps we have hunted for a few years now. That camp is what started our research from where his men was before and after this particular camp. At some point, in one corner of the camp there was a confederate camp. We have found several confederate relics over the years in that area of the camp. Now that we are living in southern Deleware we don't get out in those camps as much as we would like. Well spring break was this past week and we decided to make the best of it. With the weather cooperating. We put the coil to the soil. The first spot we always go to is the confederate section in search of the illusive confederate relics. Unfortunately there were no CS plates or buttons but we did manage some good rebel bullets and our first silver coin for the week. It's a 1851 o Trine (3 cent piece). Moving on to more productive spots on the camp we went on to find some more good relics including another silver coin. This one ended up being a 1839 seated half dime. Our week was filled with signal after signal. Buttons, bullets, and brass. Here are all of our finds from this week.
1851 o Trine
1839 Seated Half Dime
1863 Indian Head Penny
