I did a New Year's Day hunt for a couple hours in the woods next to an old farmhouse. No coins unfortunately, but a few nice relics. My favorite is what I believe is a Victorian sash buckle with a nice cherub figure. It is in better shape than the photo suggests, as that is dirt and not corrosion on the hands. I am afraid to clean it, and am open to ideas. I am guessing this would have been a two piece buckle, and that this is the right half based on the hook location. Also found two older buttons; the one with the pattern is marked London on the back. Also found my first thimble- wish it was gold! I hope everyone's new year is off to a good start. HH!
