Hey everyone.. All together, I am content with my haul this week, but boy did the dime boxes truly kick my butt.. I bumped up my order up to 14 boxes of dimes a week since my averages were on fire... Well, hurricane Sandy came through and it looks like she took my silver totals with her.. For a week my orders were ruined and for the next I only received half of the boxes. This week I finally got back up to full steam and guess what? out of 14 boxes, I got only 6 keepers.. 12 of the boxes were skunks.. :BangHead: All had the same stamp number and I am beginning to think I was searching my own dumps.. Also, I got into it with a store manager at TD bank when the penny arcade miscounted my dime dump by $79 dollars. He said it is not possible to send the bags out to be recounted and that there is nothing he can do because the machine is tested daily and counts correctly. At this point I called the regional manager who notified the store manager that the bags can in fact be sent out to be recounted, so I am waiting until wednesday to see if i get my money back. I made sure to tell him how rude the store manager was when dealing with me. (Before any smart comments come, I am an extremely polite person and treated the man with the utmost respect so don't start) Either way, my 4 boxes of halves gave me some keepers and helped me out this week. I also finally got some 90% so that made me happy.. It might be time to go back to high volume halves again since I am starting to see silver in the past few boxes.. Hopefully the dime numbers go back up next week.. Happy Hunting..

Here is the breakdown

Halves:
1x69
6x68
1x67
1x66
2x64

Dimes:
1x64
1x62D
1x60D
1x57D
1x51S
1x47

Hey CC, hope everything gets straightened out at the bank for ya, still got a nice handfull of silver there! Isn't it a shame you have to include " Don't start bashing me" in your threads now to head off the finger pointers on here? Well, anyway, keep us posted on the miss count. HH. Maverick.

Hey CC, you'll be OK with the TD miscount, it's happened to me too many times, though it may take upwards of 2 weeks for a refund, i've gotten my money refunded in full 4 out of 4 times I've been shorted.

p.s. my previous miscounts on dimes included:
$350.16 counted as pennies
$206.70 counted as pennies
$178.10 counted as pennies
$72.80 counted as pennies

I've heard the penny arcade is a dime eating machine and that those dimes end up in the pennies, if they are counted at all. Not sure how accurate this info is. Probably would be nice to get a hold of those penny bags full of dimes... Hope the situation gets straightened out.

Happened to me once with a regular coin machine. My count was off by $30 or so. Not a ton but still enough to raise my eye brows. I called the teller over and was kind of dismissed by her. I was polite but firm in asking if the machine could be opened to make sure it wasn't jammed. The teller called over the manager, and the manager opened the machine. Sure enough, a mound of coins was in the sorting drum. The problem was a small crescent wrench jammed in the drum too. The manager pulled out the gold colored wrench and snidely said "I think you dropped this" as he tried to hand it to me. The wrench had the name "Cooter" engraved on it and I pointed out that the wrench was probably Cooter's. I assured him that all my coins were clean and he was kind enough to tell me that he remembered the old dude that used the coin machine before me. Long story short, I got the remainder of my coins counted. And I snuck a peak in the reject bin. It had probably 30 coins in it with one of the top looking like a seated half. I've been dreaming of how to get into the reject bin ever since...

It happens every time I dump coins.. I am normally shorted a dollar or two when I am dumping, but I don't make a fuss about it.. 79 dollars is quite a lot though, so I absolutely had to attempt to get my money back.. You wouldn't believe the things I have seen in counters.. A wrench is definitely a new one though.. lol...

If you asked the teller, you could have gotten those coins possibly.

A shame those awesome dime numbers you were posting couldn't last a bit longer. Looks like you did ok on halves though.

I have had my dimes counted as pennies alot. They usually say the pennies must have been in there since the last user. So I dump just a balefuller of coins into the machine before my dump just to "clear" the machine. That way if they say its the last users, I say " I am the last user. Look, no pennies". That way im covered for my dump. One time, I explained this to the branch manager. I told him to look in the penny bag and im sure you'll find dimes. Well he did find dimes and he gave me my dimes back. Each manager is different. I have also had them send the bag out for recount. Takes a while but I have always gotten my money back.

Awesome.. You guys are putting me at ease a little more ..thanks.. It would be nice if the dime numbers hopped up again next week.. Trying to find new plans on dumping, I have never seen a 12 box skunks streak with dimes, so it really has me thinking maybe I am dumping into my source.. I really thought I wasn't though..

dumb question here but what's a penny arcade? I don't recognize that term. is it an actual arcade like with games and stuff that has a coin counter inside it? Or is it something totally different?

Thanks,
GarouLady

If they dont give you your money back maybe they can sell u the cent bag @ what it has totaled on the machine.

Lady G, a penny arcade is a coin counting machine in the bank

Many people have dumped coin since I have been there, so I would assume that is out of the question.. This is not the first time I have had a decent size miscount with this machine.. I think I am just gonna stay away from this branch from now on..

G-L, around here only TD banks call there machines "Penny".
