My girlfriend laughs every time I tuck my cargo pants into my rubber boots before I go out. I think she'd leave me if I ever left the house looking like that. She'd probably be happy if I came back with a ring like that though.

In 1 day? 1 week? 5 years?

Well it certainly gives me something to hope for....and drool over!

I'm guessing that collection is from a season, a year or a longer time period.

LOL! Mine makes rude comments about my kneepads!

Just curious, what makes him a "top pro"?

Ridiculousness....lovin that chunky high karat!!!

Location Location Location. That what makes a pro. I'd love to take some of them to my places and see if they can find gold like this.

That's right. With those finds he's hunting a very exclusive, high end resort/beach. They don't wear that kind of jewelry by me that's for sure.

Fantastic finds.

Posts like this really get me motivated.

Congrats.

Years and years of hard work. That's also why I put the second photo in--to show the equipment.

Some real fine treasures and I have to agree with JimDon, the amount of time you put into and the location can really affect the out come. And looking at his treasure he is in the right location... A Pro.. Maybe.. I consider myself good but not a Pro... take me out of my comfort zone and It takes me awhile to adjust even with the knowledge I have.. And my equipment is superior to his (Rolands)...

That guy CRACKBADGER - used to post up goodies like that some years ago here . $$$$$$$$$$$$$
Perfect example .. CRACKBADGER killed it.. he was in Korea and found tons of gold goodies, Stunning treasures...they even gave him his own forum here on Tnet.. But when he got back home to Florida.. NaDa.. And if memory serves me correct Birdman on the forum hunted with Crackbagder... same, some beautiful treasures.. I don't believe he has posted but a few golds since his return..

And Congrads to the Red Man.. Some Beautiful treasure... And Jealous, Hell No... I love it!!!!

Sheez! I need to get to a beach one of these days. Congrats on the rocked out ring. I wouldn't mind one of those to keep my wife quiet about my detecting addiction.

Cheers!

I will tell people usually out of the hobby that Im a professional TH'er - especially if they try to knock the hobby or down play it
like Im out there to find pennies
was always told at a young age that a professional is someone that is very good at what they do - makes money at what they do
or gets paid for what they do
a minor league ball player is still a professional ball player -
I have been TH'ing for 40 yrs now - have written over 30 articles - have helped 100s in the hobby
get asked all the time to help find stuff - Im having relic displays in 2 museums
found over 1000 rings - I think Im entitled to say Im a pro

He's running a chest mounted Excal 11 with a Fisher CZ21 straight shaft. It's reinforced so it can be long--to reach out into the deep water. He's very good in the deep water--how he holds his breath I don't know. The weight belt is a hand stiched nylon vest type set up that can be jettisoned. He also has a knife strapped to his ankle and uses custom gloves that are reinforced with liquid neoprene but have the fingers open. We talked a couple of days ago he said its to pick the nose--I said or worse...
Not a lot of guys in his category--taught me a lot about operating in rough and deep water, reading shorlines, tides--you name it.
