Have had this rock in a drawer for about 40 years. Re-found it at my Parents home last week. Had forgot all about it. I do not see any impacts on it like a hammer stone but it does look rubbed to me on once side, Any thoughts? I have no idea where I picked it up but would certainly have been in South Carolina probably in the Greenwood area.
I have several similar. Was told they were “just rocks.” Of course any rock could have been used to crush acorns, berries etc. But… without the signs of workmanship you can’t really prove it. 🍀

Neither ends or the sides show any signs of being worked or used for grinding, if it was used as a mano it would have signs of use from grinding on the ends or sides.
