✅ SOLVED A strange bed of nails??

The cage part is made of lead, and the base is some other much harder steel. So it’s pretty heavy for it’s size. I would just like to know what it is??

It's called a "flower frog" they were used as a base for a floral arrangement somehow, but that's all I know, hopefully someone else can fill in the details

That's the safety version, with hand guard. The old kind, you had to know how to operate it, and not jab your fingers.
