I took Friday off and got up early to go detect at an old school in a nearby town. This town had a small 1A school until a fire completely destroyed the main building in the 90's. The county BOE decided not to rebuild and the town took over the grounds and the rest of the buildings. This school has been around since the 40's and up until the fire, they had been my hometown's football rivals. I started beside the entrance of the old gymnasium and started to get discouraged when all I was finding was newer pennies and trash. My hopes got alittle better when I found three wheaties in a row. I was about to call it a day when while I was walking towards mytruck, I got a quarter signal. I pinpointed and got a "overload". I thought great another cola can, but I dugg the signal anyway. And boy am I glad I did! I got the suprise of a lifetime when I pulled the plug out and saw some silver in the hole. All together, I pulled 15 silver Washingtons from that hole, the oldest being a '47 and the newest, '64. The XLT rocks!!! Tim

Thanks, I thought that same thing, but I really am beginning to think that it could have been just some lost money. I found these outside of the side entrance to the old gymnasium. My thinking was that maybe someone dropped the bank bag and didn't pick up all the coins. They could have been dropped at night as most of the games down here have been played at night for a long time. Kids couldn't play when there was farm work to be done. Anyway, I have received permission to hunt the old football field also. It is being used by the SEA cadets as a training site and is always locked. I have a key to the lock now!!! Good luck in all your hunts, Tim

I love it! What a great find. You just gotta dig those cola cans in order to get the goodies
