A spacer of some sort?

I found it on my old home site. No idea what it is, or if it is of the time period or trash os some sort. The only thing I can guess is a spacer of some sort, or a back plate to door, cabinet or furniture hardware. It is about 3/32" thick and bendable(although is about to break at one place). I forgot to add it is about 2" long and 1-1/4" tall as seen in picture.

This looks like a washer used for roofing
They take a roofing nail and pound the nail thru the center to help hold town the tar paper to the paper wont tear
