A sign?!

Ok I'm not one of these people that are like THIS IS A SIGN and am pretty rational. Well this one got me today. I was detecting next to a fork in the river and saw this.. The rock is in the form of a arrow and has carved lines in it (I believe carved). It was pointing towards the fork in the river. In the last pic I outlined the lines. There is history of rocks being carved in my are by the Spanish in 1520. There was also a battlefield nearby. Is this anything made by a Native American, settler, soldier, or is it just natural? Thanks

This is a stone left by Juan Pardon in 1507 in my county. Mine looks like that arrow a little

No that big rock is in a museum. This was on a gravel bed in a river

Oh haha sorry. I will have to check. It was found in 1934 so nobody knows the coordinates. I know the county though hopefully that will help!

How likely is it the river moved it? If likely, then it must be pretty new maybe. No matter, if it is an intact sign ,old or new, follow it and look for more signs. Perhaps jot down its dimensions and dimensions of scratches, take a bearing. Sometimes the only way to tell is to find the other signs. Also look to see if any signs lead to it.

Could have been a hiker..or just nature..

ok guys sorry its been a while . I cant go back to the place for a while because the landowner is doing something with their cows (i dont know). While waiting does anybody else have any ideas ? Is it worth going to the museum and asking the archivist or specialist or will i be laughed at (haha). I used to know the guy but he left a week ago. Great impression ill make if its nothing lol. But, if you have any ideas, tips, or recognize this as any thing let me know. I believe its older because the markings arent fresh or newer looking. I dont think its a coincidence either though. Thanks

are the lines actually scratched on the rock [yours I mean..from here it look like a chip of granite with quartz intrusions..
A closeup would be nice..if they are scratches, that is the type of lines scratched on very hard rock by the glaciers that retreated about 10k years ago..although SC is a little south for that kind of things, however a water course could have helped in the process..most likey it is natural as true treasure signs a re rare element and not confinded to a small rock...rather they are large boulders stacked on top of each other...consisting of various elements found in nature, animals profile faces ect...keep looking oh an google has no idea who juan pardron was only a similar dictator of cuba in the '40s I think..
