Ah what a wonderful Autumn day today was! Cool Crisp air, a light breeze to keep the colorful leaves flying and dancing across the ground when they finally touched down. Hardly a cloud in the sky and even fewer kiddies around and about in the park. Of course that was just before school let out, then I was overrun with them.. for a while. "Hey Mister! Whatchyoo dooin'?" "Hey! Found any gold?" "Can you find paper money with that thing?" "My daddy has a metal detector too... I think it's smarter than yours, He finds all kinds of money with it." Ahhhh.. you got to love'em Fortunately the most persistant of the half pints lost interest after I pulled the old "Pied Piper Pull Tab Prestidigitation Ploy" on them. Yeah, after seeing the same pull tab (they didn't know it was the same tab) three or four times when I stopped to dig a target.. they lost interest and got bored and moved on. Ahh solice. Back to digging... uh.. <blushing> Pull Tabs.. *sigh*
Well I did find a few coins and other goodies along with the usual, inevitable pull tabs. Some Clad, a token, a button.. or snap.. not sure really, some wire, another elastic banded clip for an athletic bandage..( in the tot lot? ), and a 49cent bottle cap! WOO HOO!!!
Oh yeah.. and one other little discovery.. and I mean LITTLE as in minuscule.. a sheep! Who's fleece was white as snow.. with dirt on it. <grin> It's tiny! Some little child probably cried his or her eyes out over losing it. Bo Peep?.. a lost sheep?.. <laughing> Could be!
$2.73 in clad, not counting the Canadian Quarter.. and the Parking Token. <grin> Not a bad little haul for a relaxing hour or two in the neighborhood park. Didn't have time for any road trips to more "virgin" territories.. So I kept it close to home today. Just a couple of blocks from the house, well, a mile or three anyway. Still though, a day of detecting.. short or otherwise, is kind of like a day of fishing. Even a bad day of fishing (for fish or coins) is better than a good day at work!

Got to Love this Hobby!

Here's the pics...

Looks like a pretty good day to me. I would comment on the sheep, but I think that's for a different forum. Way to go!

Gotta love them kids! :D Glad ya got out to hunt, Fro.

Congrats on your keepers! Nana :)

I found one of those little elastic things with the two clips the other day?

Cute sheep. We get more Candian coinage here in Mich than you would see but I have never seen that style on a 25 cent piece. Yeah I know what you mean about them kids
