Well I was hanging out around the house scrolling through T-net thinking about digging when it happened. The Earth started shaking! It started pretty slowly, at first I thought it was just a large truck driving by. Then it got louder and the house started moving. When I looked out side trees where shaking and there was this audible rumble along with the clinking of glasses in the cabinets. The whole thing lasted about 60 seconds. But pretty amazing experience. I have felt small earthquakes before but nothing like this. The news said it was a 5.9(A tie for the largest recorded in Va) and I live about 50 miles form the epi center. So I took this a sign to go see what's in the ground. I headed out to the spot where there is a well known section of confederate lines. The house I hunt has about 2 acres and is up for sale. So time to hit it hard while there is still a chance. I have been told by the owner this place has been hunted hard. But you know there is still good stuff there.
The good stuff from today. The cut Spanish reale, and the Steam shovel award(If any has any info on this I would love to know about it)
The other stuff is the last week of digging there and a site across the street. Every time I go I manage a handfull of dropped bullets but this was the first time I managed any buttons, all of them are flats but I will take it.
The last picture is a VA staff officer button I dug from my "hot" spot" on a 1/2 hunt in the middle of the week. I am afraid to death to clean it.
Last shot is everything from last 2 weeks
Oh and If anyone else has earthquake stories I would love to hear them.
