A Scot, NS, Georgie, Louie, and 3 Ships

Out with IH today and things didn't go quite as planned, but we did find two sites and dug some targets. Condition was not my friend on most, but the coins are... NS Half Cent (1860s),George III Halfpenny (1770-1775) French Sol (1770s/80s), and 3 Ships Colonies tokens. (1830s)

The early military button came fast.... walked in the field, turned on the detector, took a few swings, and bang. In the field the design didn't make sense to me, but I was pretty sure it was military seeing the starburst, but when I got home I finally turned it the right way and there it was, early Scottish. Probably Royal Scots, something like that, and even though poor still a whole lot better than what I thought I had. (a rotted button I'd never be able to ID)

Well, at least one side of the Ship token looks great! That is still a decent amount of good finds, regardless of condition....

Well, at least one side of the Ship token looks great! That is still a decent amount of good finds, regardless of condition....

I have absolutely no problem admitting i have high standards for what I want to find, but that's doesn't mean I don't enjoy digging the holes, and getting this stuff. Any early military is a good day as far as I'm concerned.

Still lots of time left so we'll see. Doesn't have to be killer, just something very good, and maybe different than I have found. I'm cool with the 24th button from the Spring so maybe a coin for the Fall.

Totally agree. When you've dug the caliber of items you've dug it'd be kind of silly to have less than high expectations. We all want to find a first or a best. Why bother going out if you want average or the same old. I know I'm still looking for that one big find. But the good finds til then will keep me swinging away. Furthermore a day detecting with a buddy is a great day even if the finds aren't earth shattering. It's all about perspective my friend

I should also have added I like different, something I have not found before and from this hunt that military button is a new one for me. I have dug many many many things more than once, and it's great to upgrade, but I would prefer an addition than an upgrade... usually.
