Detector(s) used
Garrett ACE 250 w/ Crossfire II 8.5" Coil
This rock was found this morning while hunting a school yard. The rock was just below the surface but was in rock that was hauled in from a quarry so I'm not sure of it's origins. It loves magnets and makes my detector go ape. As far as weight and size, see my picture of my finds in todays finds for a comparison with other objects I found today. It also seems slightly heavier than it should (this could be my desire to find a meteorite though too). Any ideas?

Hi all, I did a streak test on this rock and tend to agree that it's probably magnetite. Thanks.

We call that Ironstone around here, and a magnet will stick to it.
