What is the diameter in MM or the weight in grams?
2 reales is 27 mm and 6.77 g.
4 reales is 34 mm and 13.54 g. (I don't know if a 4R was issued in this year.)
8 reales is 40 mm and 27.07 g.

Your coin looks like a 1/2 real, "J J" assayer, Fernando VII silver (.896 fine); Mexico City mint (small "o" over "M").
R (by itself) is for 1/2 real; 1R, 2R, 4R or 8R would designate other values.
A few years ago, the coin was valued at $15 in VG and $20 in Fine condition.
Don.....

Yes but I dont think the portrait is the same. Was the portrait a bit different on the 1/2 reale?

You should put something in the pic for size. A 1/2 reale is small.

Look at the face of your coin, it looks almost cartoonish, I would say its a copy.

Also look at the dudes ponytail or ribbon in his hair what ever it is. They are totally different between the 2 coins. I'm no expert but if they're different ones not reale.... right?

Yes, I was saying, it is a different portrait. The pic that I posted (reply 5) is Ferdinand VII, Mexico mint but from a larger denomination. I think my pic is an 8 reale. It appears the portrait ponytail/ribbon/hair is different on the 1/2 reale because it matches with the link posted by Zephyr. (1808-1814) http://www.fuenterrebollo.com/faqs-numismatica/1808-medioreal-mejico.html

I say good coin, 1/2 reale, Ferdin VII, 1808-1814, value under $20.

I agree with Mackaydon and BigCypressHunter.

The 1813 coin is a "real" Ferdinand VII 1/2 Reale from Mexico city mint. The portrait on this coin looks funny but that is the way this coin was minted. This is a good coin (not a copy).
