A Quick Lucky Find

This has to be my best year ever detecting. I have finally put in enough time (over 3 years) to learn my machine and get some good results.
My latest "lucky" find was tonight. Was able to talk the wife into letting me run out for an hour in the evening, and was able to pull out a Liberty Nickel. Not sure what date it is yet, still have it soaking, but was able to see the nice "V" on the backside. Another first for me. Im so glad I didn't let myself get discouraged and give up this great hobby
Hope to have it cleaned enough to shoot a pic tomorrow.

Nickels are tough; Vees even tougher.

Today, at a local park a gentleman (John) walked up asking questions about my SE saying he had one but couldn't use it. I explained my adjustments and such and let him take it over. His first find; a modern nickel down 4 inches. His second find? A memorial penny down 3. Needless to say, he left; going home to get his SE!
