The bicentennial coins saw many varieties. There is a 40% 1976 S mint coin. It is not a proof but is 40% silver. Will have an S mintmark. Will look and sound like the other 40%ers.

1987 is considered a keeper by some. Keep a few if you are collecting for a coin collection. They are not terribly rare but are worth a couple dollars to the right person. The same thing could be said for anything after 2001 but after you get a box or two that has more than a 100 of them you will start to toss them back.

Yes! Keep the 1987P and D's. They were only meant for mint sets and not for circulation. They are not easy to find in the wild.
