After watching this I had to wonder why did he buy a Deus 2. Is he right though? Posted 2 years ago on YT.
Your post doesn't make much sense.

The youtube video makes the case for not using filter options which are many for the D2 so that one can gain more depth. (No intent to "dis" anyone ... I am asking if this claim is correct or not?). He seems to take issue with XP putting out more hype than help.

You need to post the link in the written section, not the title part.

I think like most things, it depends. It makes sense that if you've got X amount of power, you can put it all into depth, or put some into... enhancements/filters in exchange for a small amount of depth.

I'm just learning the Dēus II, but there is probably a way to "zero out" all the features to squeeze the most depth out of it. Probably single frequency. But how often would someone use it in that configuration? It depends!

Personally, I'd rather have the option(s). The kinds of places I've been hunting are rife with iron, mineralized soil, EMI, and every sort of junk (not "junque") imaginable. If I really need/want more depth, I have the big coil, but more often, I use the smaller one to pick out targets.

YMMV.

I think many of the Youtube videos have an agenda. Some are just downright false. I watched one recently that was comparing the Manticore to the new Vortex. The vortex they said could hit a quarter surrounded by nails. The Manticore could not. This was all-in open-air testing on the ground. I know this is false. I've conducted testing with several detectors to hit a dime in the middle of iron in a bowl on my garage floor. The manticore hits the dime every time with the M8 and M11 coils.

I have the Deus 2 and the ORX. The XP machines seem very good at achieving depth using the filters in all programs. Although the Deus 2 had trouble hitting that dime in Deus Mono. Just my 2 cents...
