A plane carrying $250.000 crashed in 1948

I read this somewhere on on the net. And I heard that cash was just as good as money.
So this would be nice to find, IF, it is real. The little bit that they wrote about it said that
a plane carrying $250.000 dollars in cash crashed near Mount Carmel PA in 1948.
The money was thrown out of the plane just prior to it crashing.
