Hi everyone,
This is my first post on T-net. A friend pointed me your way because of the section on "What is its".

Found here in Michigan on the empty lot where a home dating from 1900-1910 once stood. They were about 50 yards apart. So I expect these have something to do with that era. Both found while detecting with a White's DFX. The first one was at 5" and the second was at 7".

I do have some info that there was a civil war troop encampment here between 1863-65 (don't hold me to those exact dates). So I can only hope to be that lucky.

Both are made from either solid brass or copper. They have tapered sides over their entire length. And have an opposite taper on the bottom surface which is concave. They are nearly identical, but definitely did not come out of the same mold. One is just slightly bigger. An ideas what they are??? (some sort of wedges, something for electrical lines, ...)

I came across a picture frame that had the same shape pieces but made out of plastic, to hold the mitred corners together. The wood having a tooled channel in it that these pieces slid into and made a very strong joint.
Hope that helps, but then they could be something completely different ;D

They look like wedges to hold steel cables in a holder.
