Had to hit the beach early this am for some quick business and after I did some hunting on Pass-a-grill beach where I found a few coins and a gold earring. Then I took a ride up to Sunset beach and that's where I hit my spill! I parked just left of a popular beach eatery in a 8 spot sand lot away from the main lot. Both are metered.
After hitting the beach for a bit and finding a few coins and some caps I knew my meter only had a few more mins so I headed back up the sand path thru the headge cutout back into the lot and kept detecting all the way. When I hit the parking lot I start getting some hits but figured it was trashy so I started swiping a 1"-2" of sand off the top and found a few quarters. But there were still alot left in the same 2'x 6' V pattern so I thru the quarters in the meter as they were in good shape and I didn't have any left. That bought me some more time...lol!
I went right back at it and figured there were a few more quarters that were dropped due to the parking meters so I figured I may get a few more and sure enough, they started popping out everywhere! I grab the pinpointer and start hauling them out as fast as it can clear away another 1" of sand and I am just throwing them in the pock. Never had to pick up the MD! Then I see one that is larger and it's a Sacagawean Dollar and I took a quick look in my bag and almost every other one was the same! I was digging and throwing them in so fast hoping no one was going to pull in!
After all was said and done I got 23 SD's, 11 quarters 11 dimes, 7 pennies and a house key out of that 2'x6' cut of sand in 15 mins and all were just 1"-3" deep. Who drops that many Sacagawea Golden Dollars and leaves them?! I figured must have fallen out of someone's car at night as the place gets pretty rockin' lol! Then they just got spread in that straight line as that is where the path comes out from the beach. I checked the rest of the lot but nothing else. All clean now!
Just a nice little find to start the weekend! HH eveyone!
