I have an ad on Craigslist asking for aluminum cans and soda bottles here in my town, and every now and then someone emails me and offer me a bag or so few. If they're close enough to make it worth it, I go pick them up. Yesterday, I got an email from a woman a few blocks away who is moving. She told me she had a bag or two of cans and plastic bottles, and since she was close, I went over to get them after work today. Well, she had some cans and bottles all right. Three GIANT contractor size trash bags full of them. Must be 500 of each!!! All clean and ready to go! She said she always intended to cash them in some day, but now she just wanted them gone.

I'm going to add them to what I already have and will cash in all of the plastic bottles for the .05 deposit just over the line in Mass this weekend. I don't want to push my luck, so I'll probably just scrap the cans when I have enough. Anyone else get anything good this week??? Thanks for looking!

Congrats on the freebies, and good idea with the Craigslist bit.

What did the nice lady say when a 40 year old "KIDD" showed up . Was she surprised.

No, she wasn't suprised, lol! My ad is truthful - I basically says that I save cans and bottles to earn some extra cash for the family, which is true. Hell, we need the extra cash since my wife was layed off last year. I work hard, but it's getting tougher and tougher to make those ends meet, especially here in the Northeast.

My screenname Treasurekidd is a play on my metal detecting hobby that mixes in the pirate behind the treasure stories I find most fascinating - William Kidd. There are lots of legends of Captain Kidd burying treasure here in Rhode Island, in Newport, Middletown, and Block Island. Boy I could sure use some of that loot, lol! That's about the only Kidd left in me though, lol!!

Thanks guys, and happy scapping to ya!
