Well, I have a motorcycle that I really do not ride anymore, so I posted it on another list for barter, preferably a metal detector. There is a couple who have a new, in the box, Garrett GTP 1350 that it seems they are wanting to trade for the bike.

I will be taking a loss on the motorcycle if I do an outright trade, but I want the detector, so I'm not too worried about it anyway. I'm just excited that it could be in my hands within the next day or two, depending on what day they come, since it seems they are quite interested since the GTP was just a gift to them anyway and they've never even opened the box or sent in the warranty card.

It may be foolish of me, but I can't resist an offer when it comes along like this one did. So, we'll see what happens.

Don't do it!
You can get a good detector in fact you can get a used 1350 for about 400 if you look up clevengers detectors on google and have his catalog sent to you. KEEP YOU BIKE!!!

Thanks for the responses, but the issue really lies in the fact that I'm in college, i.e., ALL of my money, for the most part, goes there. Therefore, bartering is my life until it's all over with, it seems. Plus, I'm in a dual degree program in Funeral Services. That entails that I get both a business degree at the same time as a medical degree, so that leaves me with pretty much no funding to buy anything.

In fact, one of the major reasons that I have been metal detecting over the years (or as an added bonus, really) is that it is a great supplement to my income, as well as dealing with a lot of junk that others want to buy, at times, that people like to throw away. Don't get me wrong, I worked in the medical field for a number of years, but after injuring my back decided to go back to school, so hence, here I am.

And to top it all off, Jacksonville is one of those stretched cities, so if I want to go anywhere it always takes me a couple of hours just to get through the city from one side to another, and sitting in traffic in the sun on a motorcycle is not always the most pleasant thing to be doing :)

Thank you for your offers and advice, though. At this time my bike would be going to someone who would use it more than I have been anyway, so it's not a loss for either one of us, really.
