So I went out today for a couple of hours, roughing around in the banks on the river, trying to find that shiny stuff, and didn't come across much. The ground seems to really be getting hard up here in the north, but it ain't stopping me anytime soon. Got some little specks here and there, but nothing really to run home about. Was hoping to post this in a different section such as today's finds lol. Didn't find nothing really so, that explains why... Well anyways there was a bum watching me the whole time actually. He seemed to be interested. So it seems as if I might have a new panning buddy... Alright, now I'm on the right path to finding some of that shiny stuff next time!!!

Thanks Gray Cloud, I appreciate the advice. I honestly need all I can get with being fairly new at. I read over quite a good tip that I plan to try in the spring when the water temperature rises. Take some fishing line, and attach some sinkers to it, along with a ballon, and let it flow down river, and see where it pockets up at. Probably a newbie thing to do, but hey I figure whatever helps. I was actually trying on an inside bend there earlier today. Figured next time I go, I will move up stream.

Sluice Box. I apologize as there are sites with diagrams and instruction from season prospectors on reading a river. It is something that you will develop own your own over time. Hopefully, I or someone else on here will find one of the sites for you and attach it for you.

Thanks once again GrayCloud for the knowledge! I shall look into that myself. Was going to go try again today, but actually purchased my first MD yesterday, so been busy toying with that.
