A New 1800's Schoolhouse Mystery Relic

Hi T-netters. You-all have solved two mysteries for me lately,an accordion reed and a bridal rosette both from this 1800's schoolhouse site. Here's a new one i dug up today and since some pieces of coal came up on a dig right near where this piece came up, i'm assuming this might have been part of the pot belly stove?? It's heavy cast iron. I'm getting the briars beat down a little but it's been tough detecting this site. I dug a 1917 Wheatie today in rough shape but i'm needing an Indian or old silver... Thanks for any input of this new whatzit!!
Jerry

Wood stove part, good guess. Any chance it could be part of a mold for casting, usually 2 sections. pour hole on the top?

Part of a hot water radiator? Looks like the center part has corrosion/water scale and that the rim around it was gasketed. Maybe where a valve or relief vent attached?

I also had a boat diesel engine that had a heat exchanger for the cooling water with a cap like that at either end (a threaded rod went lengthwise through it and a nut on each end kept it sealed).

I was thinking mold as well, but can't think of what fits the size and shape, oversized curtain weights...?

Bah, no idea what you have there, sorry. Best of luck!

Umm, just guessing here.
But when I first saw the pic, I thought it was the bracket for a pull shade.........................So, how bout it being the bracket for an old pull down map????

Or not. :tard: lol.
Mags
looks like the end of a pull down map or window shade to me too

I like the coffee grinder idea, time to research. The possibility of it being a desk part sounds feasible also since i dug up two other pieces in the vicinity that i'm pretty sure ARE desk parts. Heres a pic...Thanks for all your ideas and pictures...I love the research part of this hobby almost as much as digging up the coins and relics :D
