FYI

NAZI GERMAN MINOR COINS
Nazi German coin set 1 - 10 Reichspfennig. This set consists of the seven lower denominations of Nazi German coins each showing the eagle and swastika. The 1936-1939 issues include the 1, 2, 5 and 10 Reichspfennig made from copper or aluminum-bronze alloys. In 1940 the 1, 5 and 10 Reichspfennig were switched to zinc and the 2 Reichspfennig was discontinued due to the war. All eight coins grade VF or better, though the zinc coins may show some spots as zinc spots very easily. The coins all feature the denomination on one side and an eagle holding a swastika on the other.
Item C-DE-NAZI7 NAZI GERMAN 7 COIN SET $10.75

Great find Randall, you just never know what you will fine detecting. What will be the next the site gives up ?

May want to do some further research on the area where your coin was found. I have a whole collection of Nazi paraphanaelia that I found at a German POW camp down here in Florida. You may have one in your area as well.

Another nice one Randal! I found a Vichy France coin minted during the Nazi occupation from 1943 in my backyard in Florida!

Weird stuff.

Great find, with all the soldiers who where in Germany during the war, coins such as the one you found could be anywhere.

Just like the CW Sword belt buckle my buddy found here in Ohio, with over 330,000 solders from Ohio in the CW, old items can show up anywhere.

Thanks for showing us that Great Coin. HH, Ringfinder

They were also issued in silver during certain years('33-'39 I believe).I found one that was made into a pendant on the beach here in S.Fl.Although I can't tell the denomination of yours (5 or 10 reichspfenning is the only 2 that match the eagle design for that year),since it is from 1940 it is made of zinc.On the obverse that shows the denomination,there should be a mintmark also.Here are the letters with the corresponding mints to go with them-
A = Berlin
B = Wien (Vienna)
D = München (Munich)
E = Muldenhutten
F = Stuttgart
G = Karlsruhe
J = Hamburg

Nice find :)
I wish the ones im finding were in so good condition as yours.
I throw most of them away because they are in very bad condition.
The Brass coings are ok,but the rest are usually junk.
What did you clean yours with?
Here is a pict of a few i found last week.

Greetings for Germany.
