That isn't exactly facet grade. Nice specimen though!

Maybe not facet, but it would make a killer cab! Is it agate? or is it quartz?

Yea the facet thing I realized, my mistakes wrong stone lol, it's agate I believe but I'm leaning towards a light carnelian, the light shows the faint banding throughout the stone although I just found out quartz can do the same, what do you guys think?

Quartz is silicon dioxide in crystal form.
Chalcedony is silicon dioxide in crypto/micro crystaline form (crystals to small to see with naked eye)
Agate is different types of chalcedony that have been put down in layers or bands.
Carnelian is a type of chalcedony that is translucent orange/red color.
I would call your first rock carnelian. The second one is agate.
Both are silicon dioxide. Different trace elements give them different colors.
Many rocks get regional names so I wouldn't get too hung up on names. More important to realize that you are looking at the same mineral just in different forms.

Thanks Bajahunter, trust me that's been the main battle, yeah I know a lot about the quartz, chalcedony, agate confusing world, there all the same rock just different lightning the first is on the scale, the second is just under halogen light, the third and forth are with the flashlight to see through it.

Yeah, I found it amongst other things that day and didn't realize what I had for a few days, looked at it later on and was tickled.
