Hey ladies and gents,

WOW. Still excited about this one. I have had an awesome week. Found jewelry on each of my last three hunts. Today's piece takes the cake though.

Went to a new spot here in NJ. A big park with a lot of history. As usual, the humidity was off the hook today. After scoping the park out, I hit a spot near the entrance since the tot lot looked packed. It was a large field with big old trees strewn about (good shade) and a nice little stream.

I decided to mentally grid it out and work the spot row by row. Each row took me about a half hour to forty minutes to hunt both ways. My ending point was a big, old tree. Every time I made it back there, I would have a butt and drink some water. Didn't find anything up until this point but some modern clad. Just as I reached the end of the third row before the tree, I got a real nice signal that VDI'd a solid 10. When I pinpointed, It said 1". Dug the plug and out popped the nicest ring I've found in about 7 or 8 months. I was in awe. It says 10k inside and is inscribed with the following: "Love Marianne 12-25-75".
There is a beautiful blue stone setting. Don't know what it is, but, when you move it in the light, it changes into these gorgeous colors. On the sides, there appears to be small diamonds. Very heavy piece.

Hunted that section pretty good. Found mostly newer coins, but, also managed to snare two terrific wheaties. One is dated 1945 & the other is a 1956 D.

BTW, some advice folks. Take it for what it's worth. I used to think the shallow targets (anything VDI'ing from 0 to 1 inch) was trash. Well, maybe most of the time it is. However, each of my last 3 jewelry digs have been shallow targets. Each pinpointed an inch or under. So, DO-DO-DO dig those shallow targets. Ya never know. Go figure...I spend $800 bucks for my MXT300 and all my jewelry is basically right under the soil :) You don't hear me complaining though.

Any advice on how to possibly find the owner of this thing guys? Seems like a loooooong shot.

Thanks for looking. Now go find treasure!!!!

Very cool. My bet would be that the stone is a star sapphire.

Congratulations!

Great ring, looks to be a hefty little piece too.
