I apologize for posting a weeks worth of relics, but it was a busy one. I had been just hunting on the weekends for the past few months, but this site we have been hitting has become popular and the crew working the site, have started clearing for house lots. So after work I have been hunting for an hour or so until it gets dark. I am still searching after those who have beaten me there, but still doing ok. A few evenings we had gotten rain, but that didn't stop me.
Last Sunday we got hit with a strong storm, and guess what I was doing. I was about a mile out from my Jeep when I saw the storm clouds rolling in. I started walking back when the wind hit first. Followed by a crazy downpour. I started picking up the pace at that point, when the hail started. As shown in the picture they were rather large, and they hurt. I came up on a large bull dozer and took shelter under it until the hale stopped. The hale came down so hard in some places it looked like it had just snowed. A lot of tree's came down.
I did well with the buttons, I have more but the others are very rough and falling apart. I am still working on cleaning them, especially the New Yorks.
My partner found an Eagle with an R, I still need one of those.
I did manage to find a few bullets as well. I still have some cleaning to do on those as well.
I and many others also pulled a lot of grommets. I also have a large amount melted lead.
I also have to share this button, another friend who was digging with us found it. We weren't sure what it was at first, but after a quick search on the Web, its a Pennsylvania National Guard button. Its looks nice. I also have to mention, congrats to those others who found a South Carolina button, Rhode Island button, and the Bayonet, nice job! Thanks for looking and HH.
